Victims of Tropical Cyclone Pablo (Bopha) received a much-needed boost over the weekend as they received a visit from Filipino boxing champ and Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao.
Aside from comforting the survivors of Pablo, Pacquiao brought some P10 million in relief goods as he visited Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental, radio dzBB reported Monday.
"Para (ito) makapagbigay ng tulong sa kanila," Pacquiao said as he received a warm welcome from the residents.
He also told the residents to rely on God for strength.
"Siya lang nakakaalam ng ating bukas at siya lang makaka-restore ng lahat," he said.
Meanwhile, outgoing Philippine National Police chief Director General Nicanor Bartolome also helped distribute relief goods to the victims of Pablo.
Bartolome became emotional as he said the police also have a heart.
"Meron din kaming puso at damdamin," he said.
Pablo plowed through Mindanao and Visayas earlier this month, leaving more than 1,000 dead and billions of pesos in damage. —KG, GMA News
Manny is not a typical politician it is his natural acts of compassion to many people that have been in their worst situations until now. My question is where are those real so called typical politicians when during the time of national elections visits and shook hands with those people even to remotest areas of our land? None have we seen one. For those people who said that this guy is greedy please take a look at yourselves. You may not have the sources to give but atleast show some respect and gratitude by supporting this guy Pacman who loves our dear kababayans very much by sharing his God given wealth to the needy.
