A magnitude-5 quake hit the Guimaras area Sunday night even as state seismologists warned of possible aftershocks.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake was recorded at 9:08 p.m. and was tectonic in origin.
In an updated bulletin, Phivolcs said the epicenter of the quake was traced to 25 km southwest of Nueva Valencia in Guimaras.
