MalacaƱang on Sunday downplayed the so-called "negative" campaigning of President Benigno Aquino III where he would hit candidates not allied with his administration party.
Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said Aquino would also mention the positive aspect of his administration, including its achievements in the last three years.

"The president is also very fond of telling people kung ano ang nagawa ng administrasyon at hindi ang sinasabing blind item or negative campaigning," she said on government-run dzRB radio.
A report on The Manila Times had quoted Aquino as scoring local candidates of the United Nationalist Alliance in General Santos City for wearing yellow in their campaign posters.
He was quoted as asking if UNA candidates are wearing yellow "because they are praising me, or because they are trying to mislead the voters."
But Valte maintained the "bulk" of what Aquino is talking about in his campaign sorties revolved on the administration's "achievements."
"Kung gusto ninyo ituloy ang paninilbihan, iboto ninyo ang ating kakampi na sumusuporta sa ating platform," she said.
Meanwhile, Valte said it is possible Aquino will continue house-to-house campaigning as the campaign period hits the homestretch.
She said Aquino is “doing what he can” at this stage to push for the administration’s bets.
“We don’t know if that particular activity or house-to-house (campaigning) will be repeated in other areas. But certainly the president is doing what he can to push for the bets of the administration,” she said.
On Saturday, Aquino went house-to-house in campaigning for the administration’s bets, joining re-electionist Mayor Darlene Custodio and other bets allied with the administration party.
Valte said such a house-to-house campaign would depend on Aquino’s scheduled activity in the area, and on the security situation.
“The Presidential Security Group is well-aware of the security preparations needed for this kind of activity,” she said.
When asked if there will be more house-to-house campaigning in the coming days, she said, “the activity of the president depends on the area where he’s going.”
Meanwhile, Valte downplayed anew the rally of the Catholic diocese in Bacolod City Saturday against the Reproductive Health Law, where local Catholic leaders dissuaded voters against candidates who supported the passage of the RH measure.
“Maganda ang showing kahit anong survey maganda ang resulta ng kandidato ng Pangulong Aquino,” she said. —KG, GMA News
