Wowowillie to end in October

Controversial host Willie Revillame surprised Wowowillie's viewers when he announced that he's no longer renewing his contract with TV5.

"Ang last day of my contract ay October 15. Maybe October 12 will be the last show ng Wowowillie."

Because of undisclosed personal reasons, Willie will be taking a break from his showbiz commitments for a few months, a year, or even more. 


“So, hindi po para malungkot. Ganyan talaga ang buhay. Kasi kailangan ko rin ng time."

Willie also revealed that last May 17, through a letter, he has already informed TV5 management of his intent to retire after his contract ends.

"Yun lang po para matapos na ang haka-haka."

Meanwhile, TV5 released the following statement to Yahoo! Philippines OMG! and other members of the media.

"We respect the decision of Mr. Willie Revillame to retire upon the expiry of his contract with TV5. We wish him well in his new pursuits."

Just a few days ago, Wowowillie business unit head Jay Montelibano called rumors about a PHP 90 million contract demand "absurd" and that Willie is still in good terms with TV5 management.
