Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno

Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno appealed to commuters heading to Manila to bear with a little discomfort and cooperate with the local government in its new traffic scheme along España

With the new traffic scheme in Manila, buses are banned along España. Commuters getting off buses in Mabuhay Rotonda will need to walk 20 to 30 meters to get to the nearest jeepneys, which Moreno said requires just a little effort.

“Dahil lang po tinanggalan lang kita ng konting comfort eh isasakripisyo ko naman yung buong syudad na kung saan kami’y namamahala at may obligasyon,” he said in an interview with ANC.

He added, “in foreign countries we look for the public parking, kahit nga isang bloke pa yung layo, we have to park there and then you walk. Ang nilalabanan namin dito, hindi na yung systema, kasi there’s a system, may batas maty regulasyon, yung habit na yung tao.”

Waiting sheds and loading area in that avenue will soon be built.

They are also working with the LTFRB to protect the rights of the commuters on fare adjustments since the routes will be shorter.

Moreno also sought the support and cooperation of commuters from neighboring cities of Manila.

"Humihingi kami ng paumanhin sa mga kababayan naming taga Quezon City, mga kapitbahay natin sa Las Piñas, Pasay, Cavite. Kami po ay nakiki-suyo sa inyo na sana po ay makiisa po kayo sa programa ng Lungsod ng Maynila, na marahil kayo ay nag-tratrabaho dito. At the end of the day kapag nagtulong-tulongan tayo anak nyo rin makikinabang kapag maayos ang trapiko sa lungsod ng Maynila. Kayo rin po, bilang empleyado o marahil bilang negosyante."
trapiko di namin masosolve, but it can be managed."
