President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino believes he never met Janet Napoles prior the businesswoman's surrender at Malacanang Palace.

When asked if he had met Napoles, who is at the center of the "pork barrel" scam, Aquino said he does not remember at all.

"When I saw her when she came to the Palace, I was trying to look at her and I don't remember her," the President told reporters after delivering his speech at the ASEAN Navy chiefs' meeting.

Aquino said he's "normally very good with faces" but Napoles "was not familiar."

"Did I ever meet her? To the level na nakipagkamayan sa akin?" he added.

Meanwhile, Aquino said charges related to the supposed scam are now being readied and might be filed "not later than Monday [September 16]."

"There's a possibility it could be filed by Friday. I'll be given a briefing on the case, the evidence... May briefing sometime this week," he added.

Napoles, who is wanted for alleged serious illegal detention of Benhur Luy, a whistle-blower in the P10-billion "pork barrel" scam, surrendered to Aquino on August 28 after Malacanang set at P10-million bounty.

Napoles has since been detained at Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

  1. What is MORE important? Having custody of NAPOLES who is the alleged center of the pork barrel scam? OR the incessant argument on how she got herself to the palace?
